Our story

When Our Career Vibe’s Founder Gabby lost her job in November 2023, she never would have expected to start her own career group and community-building space for women professionals. Gabby always had a passion for helping her friends draft their resumes, cover letters, and provide them with job search advice.

For a few months, she paused to regroup and truly determine what type of work energized her. Having previously worked in event planning and communications, she remembered how much she enjoyed creating content and collaborating with professionals to bring events to life. But something was missing.

After a lot of self-reflection, discussions with her family and friends, and networking with professionals on LinkedIn, she had a proverbial light bulb moment. She figured out the type of work that truly motivated her and that best served her skillset; her enthusiasm for content creation, writing, health and wellness, and career coaching is what she was meant to do.

In her job search, Gabby got involved with the Fun on Weekdays Facebook Group. She noticed a trend—other women professionals who had also lost their jobs, were suffering at work, and needed help. In turn, she decided to start her own Facebook group in May 2024 originally called Our Vibe Attracts Our Career Tribe. Since then she’s hosted 6 monthly meetings and workshops all with two objectives in mind: 1) to share her successful job search strategies and 2) to build community among women professionals from across all industries in the U.S. & Canada.

Gabby’s networking paid off: she was able to host monthly meetings covering her own strong job search strategies. Covered strategies include how to get your resume past the ATS system, how to best use LinkedIn and other job search engines to find “hidden” job postings, the right behavioral interview story toolbox, and strategic salary negotiation practices at a current or new job offer.

To help other professionals best navigate their career paths and the job market, Gabby hosted an AI workshop with EarnBetter and a yoga and networking workshop with Bright Bear D.C. She is also a member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches.

Gabby was led to start copywriting for healthcare industry clients. Her previous experiences, joy for writing and all things health and wellness guided her to embark on a new path. She expanded her professional development by taking courses and conducting research to upskill on the healthcare and search engine optimization industries.

She is excited to host more online and Washington, D.C. in-person events for her career group, and expand her copywriting skills! Contact Gabby at gabby@ourcareervibe.com.

Our Logo

The lotus flower represents rebirth, renewal, and resilience. The flower grows in muddy, murky, and shallow waters. Despite difficult conditions, we can grow like the lotus flower in both our professional and personal lives.

Like the lotus, we too can grow to overcome adversity, reinvent ourselves in our careers and personal lives, and build community. The flower also symbolizes connection and as human beings, we are social creatures at our core. Up to 80% of our health is socially determined.

There is a missing puzzle piece from conversations surrounding our professional and personal development- the importance of community building. People who maintain meaningful social connections experience less stress, better sleep, and longer, healthier lives. Our social lives can be the secret to living longer. The relationship between social connection and longevity is inherently linked.

Our Career Vibe’s mission is to build community among women professionals, so we have a shared sense of belonging in both our professional and personal lives.
